And a few more things, in plain-language:

Hey everyone, I just wanted to clear the air on a few things and set some ground rules. I’m being 100% upfront abut my policy and how I run this show:)

First off, any comment I feel is haterish/spam I reserve the right to delete. I appreciate your opinion, but this blog is mine. Life is too short to waste on negativity, and I don’t feel the need give haters the attention they want. Constructive criticism is welcome, just don’t be rude about it.

I’m totally open to Ideas/suggestions! Let me know what you’d like to see on Vintageortacky.

The purpose of this Blog is to share my beauty experience, and to teach techniques/ share information of about beauty related products. This is not a platform for advertisements. I do have ads on the side bars my blog as a way to keep the blog running. The Ads have no influence on the CONTENT of my blog. Affiliations I may have with companies will not affect my ability to honestly and frankly discuss their product (see my sigma makeup eyeshadow review)

MY REVIEWS:

Yes, companies send me free items for consideration for review. I appreciate that companies want to send me free items to review, however, when I review an item, where I paid for it or it was gratis I review it as a consumer/customer.  I will not give a positive or misleading review for something just because it was gratis. I do honest reviews. I love being a blogger that people can trust, and I never want to lose that, so I’ll always be straight with you, the viewer/reader. The point of this blog is to help, not harm, my viewers/reader, or me!

If you are a beauty company that would like me to review your products, send me an email @: vintageortacky@yahoo.com.

That said,  I am not in the business of putting a product or company on blast just because I don’t like a product. Everyone’s chemistry is different, and just because something doesn’t work for me or is not my cup of tea, doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. Sometimes I will review something that has not worked for me and detail why is has not. I won’t just blast something just do it. If you are a company who has sent me something and not seen a review, Email me. I simply may not have had a chance to try the product yet, or I may dislike it.

I am honest when things are sent for free.  When I do, it is because a company wants to get the word out about their product, and if I like it, I’m happy to pass that along to you, my Readers/Youtube Viewers.

Only the Cream of the Crop /what I feel like putting on my channel, makes it onto my You Tube page. That does not mean that things I feature on my blog are lesser than the things feature on my youtube page. It’s just that I run a one-woman-show, and I simply do not have the woman-power to do a video review for everything I like and try. So the only things I will be featuring on my Youtube channel, will be things I REALLY love/things that fit in with what videos I am making at them time. I plan my videos in advance (for the most part) and I rarely drop everything  for something new whether I buy it or not, though it does happen.

If you are a beauty company who sends me something, it may take me some time to review it. As I said I plan my videos (and blog posts) in advance, so it may be a month or two (sometimes longer, my apologies, I try to stay as current as possible) before I get to doing  a review.   Whether I buy something or not, I want to be able to test drive something before I review it- that just makes good sense.

This Blog is based solely on my opinions, experiences,  and bits of information I have picked up here and there. Some of my opinions are based on fact. The Sky is Blue. That’s a fact. However, when I review a product, that should never be taken as a claim. I have no right to make a claim about a product’s effectiveness; I can only to give my opinion, and share my experience with products -nothing more. Anything you buy after I review it is at your own risk, and I take no responsibility for whether you like something or not.

Thank you for taking this into consideration, and enjoy my blog 🙂

Hi Cora , came across your site from a link from one of your photos on the web ( looking at reference images of chemical romance ) . I am a character artist woring in the uk and at present woring on some female characters that could do with some ace make up in a very similar style to yours , I hope you dont mind if I take some insiration from your tecniques ( being a bloke means make up is not on my top list of skills ) .
That fact that I will be paint onto the 3d models means I can hopefully apply the colours in a similar way to your tutorails and get a more honest look to this style .
I am about two weeks away from paint up the first model so I though I would give you a heads up in case you arenot ok with this.
    thanks.

Hi! I’m real interested in those flakie nail polishes. But I live in the UK and we don’t have any ‘Sally’ beauty stores. Are there any other brands that are similar and worldwide? Thanks!
    Sophie-Rosa (:

    • Sally Wood says:

Essie has a good flake polish in their Luxe series called Shine of the Times (found on head2toebeauty.com) and Nails Inc. (found on sephora.com) is selling sets with flake polishes in them. Both are more expensive than the Fingerpaints but they also seem to be much higher in the concentration of “flake.” Hope this helps!
