Unique MAC Graphic Garden Palette

Hey Everyone!

On Monday I had business in the same area where there is a CCS, and I can never resist a peek there. For those of you who don’t know, a CCS/CCO short for Cosmetic Company Store/Outlet they are outlet stores that sells discontinued or overstock Estee Lauder owned cosmetic brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Origins etc… for 30% off retail! Discontinued MAC goodies on the cheap? Yeah, they know me by name there.  Anywho! So while I was there my fave sales girl Megan let me know they had some new stuff that had just come in, so she opened the boxes to show me the goods. Among the delightful new arrivals was the Graphic Garden Palette from last years Nordstrom anniversary collection. It contained a bunch of perm MAC shadows I’ve had my eye on, and two discontinued ones including Jewel Blue, which I’ve been lusting after and never thought I’d get my hot little hands on.  SO needless to say I got it, I’ve been using it, I love it…etc.

But this is not a haul post.

More after the jump

No no my friends. So today I was cruising Allcosmeticswholsale.com  (I’m sort of obsessed with finding discontinued MAC Veluxe texture shadows and Wondergrass. It’s sort of hopeless, but a girl can dream right? I mean, I DID find Jewel Blue!) For those of you who don’t know, Allcosmeticswholsale is kind of like a CCO online, but something are original price or higher. So whilst cruising for gems, I saw a listing for the Graphic Gardens palette, but it was different from mine; the colors were in a different order. Intrigued, I clicked on it, and found that not only were the colors in a  different order, they were entirely different colors! For a second I thought maybe there was some kind of mistake so I checked my fave MAC fan site, Specktra to read their info on the Graphic Garden collection, and sure enough, they had the other palette’s line up listed.

The palette above is the one that I find all over the internet.  The colors are:

  • Social Climber – (Veluxe Pearl)
  • Botancial Blue – (Frost)
  • Straight Hedge – (Veluxe Pearl)
  • Wild Wisteria – (Lustre)
  • Linear Lilac – (Veluxe Pearl)
  • Graphic Garden – (Velvet)

I was having a Twilight Zone moment until I remembered that the box for my palette had a sticker (presumably of authenticity) that has Chinese Characters on it. So putting two and two together, I figure I have an Asian Exclusive palette. I don’t know for sure and I haven’t been able to find any definitive proof, but that’s the only explanation that makes sense to me. Here’s some pics of my palette & the packaging.

I love how the picture changes when you move the palette.

Jewel Blue is one of MAC’s Veluxe texture, SO SMOOTH and pigmented. MAC bring them BACK!

See weird sticker. Does anyone know what language this is?

I think it’s cool that I found a MAC palette I can’t find online, and since it was bought it at a legit MAC retailer, I know it’s real.

I thought it would be fun to share this oddity.

❤ Cora

The sticker looks like it’s either Japanese or Chinese to me. That might explain the different colors?? Very odd indeed 😀

  2. That is so cool! I haven’t been to my CCO in about a month… I think its time to check out! I love the colors 🙂

I check ACW almost daily, however have yet to buy anything from them, and recently almost bought the “graphic garden” palette… I was checking for them on ebay too but they were much more than this one and couldnt tell if they’d be legit…I am relieved though to hear that ACW is in fact a legit retailer!!! So exciting to hear about your rare find!!! Swatches please? 🙂

It says “Chinese Health Inspection Department” just means it was inspected for quality and what not 🙂

Hi Cora, I’ve been a follower of yours for quite a while now on youtube and read your blog from time to time. I can’t help but notice that you’re looking for wondergrass e/s. I happen to have one and I don’t use it. It’s been used once and still looks brand new. I can take pics for you if you want. But I wanted to know if you were still interested in it?

thanks for posting this! i recently went to a CCO and wasn’t sure if the one i picked up was legit. i was really confused by the names and the color order being so different but it’s good to know that perhaps this came from asia. cause CCOs don’t sell fakes…right?
